OpenAFS 1.5.9906
Little quirk of "symlink -list", it fails if one has not yet done a
directory listing.
PS Microsoft.PowerShell.Core\FileSystem::\\afs\usgs.gov\user\dboldt>
symlink list -name foo
'foo' is not a symlink.
PS Microsoft.PowerShell.Core\FileSystem::\\afs\usgs.gov\user\dboldt> ls

If I tell aklog to go after RESOURCE.NET explicitly, I end up with the
same error that started this thread:
[root@afs1c afs]# aklog -d -c afs1.bedrock.iu.edu -k RESOURCE.NET
Authenticating to cell afs1.bedrock.iu.edu (server afs1.bedrock.iu.edu).
We were told to authenticate to realm RESOURC

You are correct, there is no danto...@resource.net; there is
danto...@iu.edu, and there is also a local user dantolov with AFS ID 2. I
did not see danto...@iu.edu as a member of system:authu...@iu.edu at any
time. Are you saying that the presence of the local user is the problem?
Below is what
Fault in packaging. The binaries are correct, just wrong version number.

No, don't do this. In your setup, the _only_ user that will be
recognized as "dantolov" is someone that authenticates with the

Everything works fine up to a point: I can set up a FOREIGN.REALM group (in
this case system:authu...@iu.edu) and add users to it. However, when I try
to add the group to the ACLs of the /afs tree, it adds the group
system:authuser instead. These are the steps, with me authenticated as the

Hello!
I just installed the 1.5.9907 (1.6.pre7) for windows 32bit MSI package
on my windows 7 SP1 32bit laptop.
But in Network ID Manager Plugin View it appears as 1.5.9906 (instead of
expected 1.5.9907).
My fault, fault in packaging,..?
thank you.
