Try this:
http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/admin/afs/aklog-1.0.dmg
That is a kerberos aklog and a LoginWindow plugi
ly you don't want to remove
shared paths such as /usr/bin or /private/var/db, but /Library/OpenAFS
/var/db/openafs and the various tools in /usr/bin and /usr/sbin can be
removed.

), but it's fairly easy
to fix. You end up having to vos zap the unfinished volume on the
destination partition and make sure that the VLDB knows where the
working volume really is.

like it should work.
In theory the AFS servers ought to work in a solaris 10 zone. I really
hope that part works at least, as I would like to do so myself. (I have
a 6-cpu E3000 sitting here doing very little, and I'd like to put an AFS
fileserver on it in a zone)
I know absolutely nothi
mesg output for a line with "blacklist" or something similar.

I tend to agree, but it's usually worth a shot to try something simple
like 'hdparm -c1 -d1 /dev/hda', and perhaps -m16 if it is not already
set that way. If
hat this is caused by the cache scan. If I use
-memcache, the slow startup time seems to go away.

So ... I discovered the hard way that (on AIX at least) if you put a
non-existent cellname in /usr/vice/etc/ThisCell and start the AFS
client, the system will panic as soon as afsd is started. Weird, huh?
Pretty obscure error condition, but still ... kernel panic? Yow.

(x86 linux, macs, solaris sparc, solaris x86,

however, that support for Tru64 is going away fairly soon.

I think the one linked above might be it :)

How about this one?
http://www.openafs.org/dl/openafs/1.2.13/debian-3.0/README
Also, why is it called "Packagez.gz" in that directory instead of the
normal "Packages.gz"?
Further, why is the 1.2.11 download directory non
faik) from OpenAFS. Near as I can tell,
the in-kernel AFS stuff might be useful for booting diskless machines
out of AFS, but not for a whole lot else.
