Would it be possible to get an updated SRPM from this? It looks like
there were some changes in the doc structure and the SPEC file that has
been working with rc2 doesn't work with this release.

I grabbed the 1.4.1-rc2 src.tar and doc.tar files.
I installed the 1.4.0 src.rpm, replaced the src.tar and doc.tar files in
/usr/src/redhad/SOURCE with the 1.4.1-rc2 files, updated the
SPEC/openafs.spec file to call them and compiled.
The compile went fine, however I'm getting the following e

You can try using the openafs-buildall.sh script which should work
properly.

In your case, `uname -a` is reporting a UP kernel, so it's building a
UP module. This is not a bug.
ELsmp means a UP kernel?

I haven't been following this thread at all but if you want I can try to
build these RPMs on the x86_64 box I'm playing with. I don't have a lot
of time to translate instructions in an entire mail thread but if you
have a cookbook you want tested I'm available.

I'm about to reimage the root drive on an AFS fs & db server. It's going
from an ancient RH release to RHEL 3 with all new OpenAFS RPMs and such.
I am hoping to do it without having to recreate all of the RO volumes on it.
I'd really appreciate it if people with experience at this kind of upgrade

I'm trying to build a set of RPMs from the src.rpm for 1.2.13. I've
edited the spec file to include:
%ifarch x86_64

%endif

so now it finds the amd64 make file. It configures fine. However, while
compiling the first module - MODLOAD-2.4.21-20.EL-amd64-SP -

For whatever it is worth I can confirm both the problem and the fix. We
upgraded to Linux 2.4.20-13.7 (Red Hat 7.3) and OpenAFS 1.2.9 and every time
we rebooted the host hung at the "warm shutdown" line.
The hang has not happened since applying the umount.diff patch.

I have a vicepc partition that has a bunch of volumes each of which is
rw with a shadow readonly. When I do a vos listvol /vicepc of that server, I
see things like this:
m.r7.blacsmpich 536872397 RW 12 K On-line
m.r7.blacsmpich.readonly 536872398 RO 12
Is anyone successfully backing up an OpenAFS cell using amanda? Please
contact me off-list.
thanks,
