No, it is not possible.
Java Card 2.1 is a set of specifications that defines the API, the Virtual
Machines and the Java Card Runtime Environment. But Sun specifies nothing
about the way to load an applet and how to manage the Card Life Cycle.
Concerning the GemXpresso 211 Card, it implements the Java Card 2.1 (and
2.1.1 for the GemXpresso 211PK and Lite) specifications for the Runtime, and
it implements Open Platform specifications by Visa for the way to load an
applet.
