Neither patch is functional. The enable_lcd patch does, indeed, lock things up.
The enable_dp patch repeats the usual behavior -- no screen. I (stupidly)
didn't get logs out before reverting it, though.

To apply the patch, go into your git checkout, then :
patch -p1 < /path/to/diff.patch
To revert, the patch :
patch -R -p1 < /path/to/diff.patch
I guess if ForcePanel locks up your device, then the enable

ForcePanel locks it up upon attempted GUI -- had to power off via the button.

Got it to build (yay!) after finding the correct command for timezone setting.
Except that (boo!) it still doesn't work.
