Its because bigevil which used to take around 65 MB has been removed and its functionality has been replaced with SURBL which uses less CPU also and instead uses a network lookup to identify spam.



This is really great, because my mail server was a bit strained before and is running much smoother now. The mail server is a 400MHz Celeron and it was using half it's allocated swap memory before, but it's not using hardly any swap memory now.


You can try adding a syntax error into your blacklist file to check whether you get that error in the log file. Also, if possible can you post your blacklist file to the list, if its not long enough.

You already suggested the syntax error into my blacklist and I did find the errors in my maillog. I've tried blacklisting individual email addresses and complete subdomains. Here's my current blacklist:

From:           8.7.156.        yes
FromOrTo:       default         no

I assume you meant to post inline, rather than as an attachment? Does this right?
