Dear rogun128,
Its nice to know that spam checks are much faster now. But, what
about the accuracy? Do you get the same level of accuracy or find
anything odd?
The accuracy seems very good, but it's a small server and I haven't

Dear Matt Bullock,
Sorry to break in here, but after updating to 5.0.1.9 I noticed the
percentage of spam caught went from around 89% to 99% immediately.
Working great so far the second day in. Server is RH Enterprise 3.

Dear Rob,
This is really great, because my mail server was a bit strained before
and is running much smoother now. The mail server is a 400MHz Celeron
and it was using half it's allocated swap memory before, but it's not
using hardly any swap memory now.

Its because bigevil which used to take around 65 MB has been removed and
its functionality has been replaced with SURBL which uses less CPU also
and instead uses a network lookup to identify spam.

Dear [EMAIL PROTECTED],
Well, I upgraded to 5.0.1.9 today and it's still not working for me.
However, I have noticed at least one problem fixed and it does seem to
use considerably less memory. The problem I was having was that
MailScanner would die shortly after restarting OpenProtect, but would

Dear rogun128,
Please check whether the same addresses in the blacklist are in the
whitelist as well, as whitelist is checked first. If the blacklist is
working, there will be a header like:

Dear rogun128,
I already have that line in my config, just as you have it written,
and it's not commented out either. I've restarted OpenProtect several
times, but it still wouldn't work. The spam.blacklist.rules has the
proper permission and I'm not seeing any sort of error in my logs. Do

Dear rogun128,
Hi,
I've created a ruleset for blacklisting spam and it doesn't seem to
