I've problems building gcc from the 2011.03-maintenance branch. The do_install

I.m creating a special image with for instance a modified udev package.
I've created a udev-xxx.bbappend for that purpose.
But for all the other images I build for other hardware I still want to
use the original udev-xxx.
There is probably a simple solution but I don't see it...

You can easily generate a zImage. If you have devshell enabled, type
bitbake linux -c devshell and browse under arch/*/boot/... to find
your vmlinux image.
Try bootm 0x84A0. This works on my system.

... It just isn't coming out of the serial port ..

Yes, I have CONFIG_SERIAL_IMX_CONSOLE=y in my .config and I have
confirmed it is being used.
I will try the printk in the serial driver ... Thanks, was looking for
where that was ..
I want to get the kernal up and running before I introduce the root file
