that during libffi's configure it will symlink 'src/x86/ffitarget.h' to
'include/ffitarget.h'. Unfortunately this will create a broken softlink

Angstrom's default GCC is 4.3.3 for ARM. Unfortunately that version
lacks atomic intrinsics support for the very same architecture
(__sync_synchronize and friends). The support is available from 4.4.x
onwards but a patch exists in Ubuntu's GCC that adds the intrinsics to

first of all. As Stefan pointed out the change was needed while working
for Buglabs on OpenJDK support. So it was decided that the introduction
of the mentioned GCC change is handled by Stefan Schmidt now.
But I would like to elaborate on the side-effects of the patch.

I am trying to make the OpenJDK recipes 'OE ready'. One hard issue I am
facing has to do with the shlibs mechanism in OE.
In order to get OpenJDKs dependencies right its libraries and binaries
are checked for library dependencies. That is all fine and I would love
to activate that.

GCC 4.3.1 does not build for an ARM target because a patch does not fit.
So I assume that no one is really interested in that version of GCC
anymore and would remove it then if nobody fixes the patch situation:

Chaning the version of the DTD should be fine. If it is incompatible you

It would not be a good idea to blindly remove this. The effect of this
can only be seen at runtime. I don't have the time to look into this
deeply now but we definitely did this because we don't like th

contributors, so that we always have way more than 2 people being close
to the stands.
If the room and table situation permits we would kindly ask the FOSDEM
