Hello Steven,
TerminatOOOR does work with OpenERP v5 to v7 yes. We just imported a half
million of companies (partners) in a single OpenERP database here on a v7
project.
Now, the annoying thing is that Github stopped to host executable binaries
so you would have to run ant to build it.

The main reason I see with 1 branch with several module is that OpenERP
does not support ve
Another reason I see is for ensure visibility of all the modules included.
Github projects and subprojects will do the trick very well, but, as we
have said, for now we are tied to Launchpad and its constraints (and also
its advantages).
