Thanks very much. I deleted all files under the "data" directory. This solved
my problem. OpenGrok is running quite well now.

Yes, I was using an old version Java DB (10.3.1). I just tried to upgrade Java
DB to 10.8.2.2. I used the new lib/*.jar to replaced the old Java DB jars.
After that, I restarted Java DB and it shows "Apache Derby Network Server -
