I installed OI151a7 on hp Spectre Envy 14, that has Intel Core i5 3317U.
I can use 1900x600 resolution on this machine with OI 151a7. But unfortunately
I can't use wifi, Intel Wifi N6250. The output of the command 'scanpci' is below

My advice is to keep things simple and use 1500 MTU size.
As stated in the other answer the performance gain is minimal.
So the extra complexity of the network configuration is not worth the
trouble with todays faster hardware.

I use this configuration with no issues. For an MTU of 9000 with VLANs on
the host, make sure the switch MTU is set to 90
