For using openindiana as a desktop machine, use the link at ...

... which is the live DVD. (or live USB, for that matter)
This link is version 151a8. You will then want to update it immediately to
151a9 using the packagemanager gui or # pkg update in

I hope this isn't too OT. IT does involve an OI installation.
I suffered a full scale crash/burn in win 7. That machine had been
running the OS for several yrs, and I took the opportunity to
completely renew it rather than try to salvage the crashed OS.
I was able to salvage all my data files .

The new Firefox 28.0 and 24.4.0esr download works also fine.
As already mentionned Firefox create two files when downloading filename :
filename.tmp
filename
During download size of filename.tmp grows
filename has a zero size
