Google eon zfs. They are a usb illumos flavor. The community seems as friendly as this one. FreeBSD is okay as well. I honestly have more experience with FreeBSD/ Linux but prefer BSD to Linux. To be frank when it comes to ZFS I think the setup and performance on OI is better than FreeBSD, but

After searching for my chipset and illumos I found a bug report filed. I had to disable USB in the bios and now the CD boots. Apparently a patch has been released for Illumos not sure if it has made it Openindiana yet. So if you have this chipset disable USB. Regards, Dain Bentley -Origina
