es, gather up a few USB thumbdrives and
do the same operations. Once you're confident that your procedure is
good, then carry on with the real drives.

If the time is put into it, Network Weathermap (
http://www.network-weathermap.com/ ), a Cacti plugin, can make some
nice looking and useful network maps. It's just a PHP thing, so it
(and Cacti) should run on OI without any issues.

I have a pci-express card based on JMB363 chipset, because it is listed in
HCL. The card is recognized by the ahci driver.

No, not at all. 'sudo' has been used in RedHat since v7 at least, and has
been in every single distribution of Linux I have ever used since. It's much
older than Ubuntu. Please, please stop whining
