media layer has had a major refactor for 2.2 so it may be fixed. Can we

I'm not sure that it will be wise to assume users will actually read the
release announcement, and first upgrade to 2.0.5 and then 2.2...
I think adding a few extra checks to the upgrade code to handle problems like
this during upgrade will save us many support requests and forums posts from
I think there was some decision made to remove a whole load of legacy
upgrade code (some of which pre dated the original final release) but I
may well be corrected.
I have been thinking the same thing. If the code that offers to do the
backup could first check if the version is 2.0.5, and if so

Having had a look at this it looks as if the file supplied is using some
kind of wide character formatting. I doubt that with out further sample
files that we will be able to decode the formatting that it is using.
