We are using mod_proxy for a number of server.
Also on the same server which is likely to be the most common use-case.

I've set up a reverse proxy in Apache to send the openmeetings
visitors from meetings.myurl.com to www.myurl.com:5080/openmeetings to
allow access through some restrictive firewalls and to cleanup the
url.
