you did miss to add a smtp_port. Normally you should enter 25 as smtp port.

please try to restart the server after you did alter the mail configuration.
I did encounter that without restarting the server the auth.credentials are
hold somewhere in java-mail-session.
You can easily test if your mail configuration works after a restart when
you do a fresh registration a

Select this new user and now write the mail address only and save it.
It is all right now.

I have tried all kinds of things. Now I have deleted info in the
configuration under smtp fields including system_email_addr. No emails
are receiving. Tried invitation, schedule meetings and set up new
user. with new users it saids "invald email".
Our system admin has confirmed our sendmail is
sendmail listens to all 0.0.0.0:*.
I know we receive emails from other systems on our server. We are not
receiving any from openmeetings.
Need help as no one can send invitations.

the user administration send an email when you add a new user.
This Error means that your mail-server config is somehow not correct and it
was not possible to send this new user an email.
