The abundance of tool and their internal differences don't call for a 
copypasted  --version implementation.

Of course, as Ludovic said, it would not hurt.

opensc-tool --info shows more useful stuff than just the version number:

$ opensc-tool --info
opensc 0.12.0-svn-list [gcc  4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5646)]
Enabled features: zlib readline iconv openssl 
pcsc(/System/Library/Frameworks/PCSC.framework/PCSC)

It could be aliased (or renamed) to --version
