This old question. I know. I'm trying to call a container-specific
js function on the gadget XML. I assume this is the only place the
API is made available. The REST calls im doing in PHP dont cover
everything, and of course would not cover platform-specific calls.
So far:
- easyXDM doesnt
implemented (inside 0.8). Examples: data pipelining and templates.
Give it a try!

Looks tasty, but thats a 0.9 feature, and i'm on 0.8.
I don't see any other feasible way than an iframe, at this point.

Hello all! I have a very extensive PHP app i am trying to adapt it
for an OpenSocial gadget. Would an iframe within Content be
dependable enough? I would be forced to use just the PHP API, since
window.parent.opensocial might not be guaranteed in all situations.
What are my alternatives?
What do you think about gadgets.rpc with an iframe?
