Hi Stéfano, If you're talking from the perspective of the end-user, the orkut help forum (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/orkut) would be the more correct place to post product feature requests/issues about the web frontend, such as yours. This forum is specifically for developers developing OpenSocial apps for orkut.
But if you are a developer who wishes to realise your use-case through an app, then yes, there's a good news for you. You may be able to achieve this through the orkut client library due to be announced soon. Regardless, the max resolution of photos in orkut is currently 800*600, and I'm not really sure if there are plans of changing that. Again, the other forum to your rescue. Cheers, Prashant.
