So, as far as Solaris is concerned, there is no floppy drive at all. It
has worked fine before switching to new ACPI architecture.
In prtconf -p output, is there an fdc node listed as a

What happens when you stop vold, and try to read from the PS/2 floppy
using dd?
# /etc/init.d/volmgt stop
# dd if=/dev/rdiskette of=/dev/null bs=18k
Does that report I/O errors?
It does, sort of.
bash-3.00# dd if=/dev/rdiskette
I don't see any messages related to the floppy problem at the time I was
accessing it. This is the same machine that had problems with PS/2 based
mouse
and keyboard and I had to switch to USB based ones.
Juergen, there is nothing about fdc (or fd) in prtconf -p output:
bash-3.00#
Hi,
I have some really strange problems with booting
Schillix on a PC with AMD Duron 650 and KT-133
chipset (IIRC).
The boot hangs after printing:
boot scratch memory used: 0x26102c
If I remove the Mouse(PS-2), it boots.
There are many ACPI error messages. Is there any hope

For a lot of the byte-size changes, it is possible to look at the

Does this mean that we will not see the build 18 sources soon?
Got me on that one. Sorry.

Hey,
I'd like to start the ball rolling in getting an OpenSolaris Desktop
Community launched. Let's face it, there's an awful lot of FUD being
spread around OpenSolaris not being ready for the desktop - it's time to
prove them wrong ;)
I'd like to lead a desktop community focused on JDS.

Thanks, Glynn. Impressive. I can see you weren't kidding on this. :)
Let's give the community some time (your two weeks is fine) to comment
and we'll see where we are and what we can do.
Thanks again,
Jim
