Project Proposal: Multi-lingual Technology Glossary
I propose a project on OpenSolaris.org for the development of multilingual
technology glossary. By glossary, I mean a collection of terms and the
definitions. IMHO, this project brings several advantages to the success of
OS.o community.

don't see any information on patch support.

I recall there were instructions on either this forum or another on this site
for how to get SMC working again on recent builds of Solaris Express.
Unfortunately my searches haven't turned up anything. Can someone possibly
remind me?
Thanks

Perhaps virturalization is the way to go even for desktops. I am not trying to

Hi,
I've been rummaging thru the OpenSolaris source repo and I've found the code
for the SATA drivers and the ATA i/o subsystem. Could these be compiled for
Solaris 8/9 (x86 and SPARC) to extend the life of the OS's that Sun forgot?
Thanks,

Precisely what I was thinking. Except that third column is "swapped out
processes" and how does one pull them back from the brink of never never
land? What ladel reaches into that bucket and when?
I don't rightly know.

This problem has been solved in the 2.6.18 Linux kernel (the "forcedeth" module
will now reset the NIC cache). This explains why Fedora Core 6 (2.6.8 kernel)

Since POSIX (or at any rate, SUSv3) seems to require that close()

that doesn't release the l
