Mmm maybe because it sounds like one of those "win" printers which are not ok when comparing with standards? http://www.itreviews.co.uk/hardware/h1574.htm says that you need driver from CD for USB connections and then you can use network connections. So maybe some "magic" in USB driver? Real US

You can probably make this work under LP or CUPS on OpenSolaris. The linuxprinting.org page for this printer claims that it works fine with the Ghostscript pxlmono driver (http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Brother-HL-2150N). You should be able to use the Brother HL-2060 / Fo

not sure the why but really cups should come as default in osol, and btw you may think as an option to extract the network printer detection algorithm in kde4.3 cuz so far as long as the printer is in the network kde autodetect it, my printers are hp laser, canon, lexmark. -- This message poste

But there was the "present" nearly ready. I installet cups. Cups find the printer (Brother HL-2150N) but must select "AppSocket/HP JetDirect", so portnumber comes (9100) but the above pcip must write. I can find ip (xxx.xxx.x.xxx) from Ubuntu and it is the same because Ubuntu is in the same pc.
