Hi,
I just tried upgrading to b121 from 2009.06. Unfortunately the new kernel does
not want to boot.
Trying to boot with -kv I see it is hanging very early, right after printing
initialized model-specific module 'cpu_m.GenuineIntel' on chip 0 core 0 strand 0
It's not a hard lockup
Hi,
which merge tool are people liking on OpenSolaris? I read about TeamWare
filemerge, but it
appears that could be SUN proprietary product, at least I'm not finding it on
my box.
I used to like kdiff3 on Linux, but KDE isn't here on OpenSolaris.

Is it working with the native video mode for you? I'm only getting
nVidia Corporation unknown chipset (0x065a) rev 161. Using Osol 08.11 over

It does work in Vesa mode, but that's not quite what I was after...

Actually, most of the good things for laptops are now in Solaris
Express. WiFi support out of the box for Intel chipsets, better video
support, etc.
Yes, and that's what I'm after. Are there plans to backport these into a
Solaris 10 update? 'cause Solaris 10 is supported by Rational, and
Hi,
does anyone have a rough idea when one could expect a formal release of Solaris
11?
Sorry for the question; I was just wondering when I could expect Rational to
fix their
ClearCase product to run on OpenSolaris. Most likely that would be when
OpenSolaris becomes
a formal Solaris 11
Hi,
I was trying to install ClearCase 7.0.1 on my OpenSolaris b76 (x86) system.
Basic
functionality seems to be there, but xcleardiff segfaults as soon as I call it,
regardless which parameters (if any) I give:
program terminated by signal SEGV (no mapping at the fault address)

Hmm, after my initial bliss settled for a second I come to realize you said it
requires JDK 1.6
as every Europa distribution does.
I can't remember that Europa requires JDK 1.6. Eclipse itself requires JDK 1.5
per the README,
and I haven't seen any additional requirements for any plugin. Are
Hi,
I installed the fall SXDE lately, curious about the new and much improved

I learned that it does look nicer, but actually gives me much less control.

I'm using Ubuntu Feisty (x86_64). I didn't use particular partition tools, just

It turned out Solaris seems to reset the MBR and probably installs Grub into
its own
partition which is nice. Linux distros like to install
Hi,
I am installing OpenSolaris right now on some free space on a disk that contains
Linux. Much to my surprise the partition tool warned me that installing on the
same disk as Linux was not supported. Could someone explain? Should I fear
it actually does not work, or is it just you don't want
I tried, and it somewhat worked.
Initially it popped up dialog boxes asking for my wep key and did configure my

I then tried to unplug and plug again the card, but it did not like that. The
LEDs on the card
stayed dark and the network connection was lost. I experimented with
Wow, that did it!
Now, does anybody by any chance have a pointer to how I could setup the

I'm trying to get a Netgear WPN511 wireless card to work. It is an Atheros
