Hi all, I have a server set up with OpenSolaris 08.11, and I have a Brother HL-1440 attached to it (non-Postscript, PCL only). I would like to be able to print from my laptop running the same OS, and two windows PCs, one running XP, the other running Vista. I tried to set this up through IPP, but from the Windows PCs, the printer light flashes once and then nothing is printed. From the PC running OS, it just works. I tried with Samba, and have the same general issue. I tried using a different driver and then I get Postscript codes printed from the printer when printing from windows boxes.
How does one get a network queue set up that supports both raw printing and lp? And if I'm looking for the wrong things, does anyone know how to solve this problem and just get it working from both types of software?
