I found the answer to my problem in the pdf "Getting Started With OpenSolaris".
With opensolaris it is not possible to login as a "root" user instead you must
login as a "superuser" by using the "su" command and then using opensolaris as
a password. Works fine, no need for pfexec command.

$ pfexe pkg set-authority,
and I am returned the message;
bash: pfexe: command not found
I have also tried use the pkg_get from blastwave, following their tutorial I
enter;
$ pkgadd -d http://blastwave.org/pkg_get.pkg
and I am returned the message;

I installed opensolaris on a virtual hard disk in Virtual Box, but I get this
message on boot up - WARNING: No randomness provider enabled for /dev/random.
Use cryptoadm(1) to enable a provider.
What is this? and how do I deal with it? I am totally new to open source, and
am searching for altern
