Hi all,

I have a basic question about resource controls through project.

OS : Solaris 10 Generic_118833-24
Machine physical memory : 16GB

When I added the following project info. to /etc/project, kurotest user was
able to get 16GB shared memory.

---------------
kuroproject:1000::kurotest:kurogroup:project.max-shm-memory=(privileged,17179869184,deny)
---------------

But when I added the following project info. to /etc/project, kurotest user
couldn't even login to the machine.

---------------
kuroproject:1000::kurotest:kurogroup:project.max-shm-memory=(system,17179869184,deny)
---------------

% rlogin rebun -l kurotest
Password:
project.max-shm-memory resource control assignment failed for project
"kuroproject"
Connection to rebun closed.
%

So I understood that I needed to set "privileged" as Privilege Level for
project.max-shm-memory.

But why shouldn't I use "system" as Privilege Level ?

I would appreciate it if you could reply to my ignorant question.

Thanks in advance,
kurotake
