thank you for the info about the lack of drivers.
Recently (with later versions... i think snv98 and up, not sure the exact snv)
it started to flicker whenever i move the mouse on the desktop. Any idea why it
would do so now and not before? (i am certain snv 96 and earlier did not do so)

thank you, very useful guide.
I tried a fresh reformat and install of snv99 and it installs a grub version
that can only read v12 ZFS... so I had to install snv97 so it will create a v12
rpool, then do an image-update, i will just hold for a while before upgrading
my rpool again.

Thank you for the answer.
what about at differing speeds? a quad core tends to be slower mhz wise then a
dual core.
Is ZFS good at multi threaded operation?
Also, if I have the option to, should I enable or disable hyper threading?

ok, i reinstalled using osol 0811 beta snv99, and it will not boot either on a
fresh boot, it seems that grub simply has not been updated for ZFS v13. I am
going to reinstall using snv98, then do an image update to 99, then LEAVE the
rpool as v12 and not upgrade it.

Which is faster for ZFS, phenom or C2Q? what about dual cores like X2 vs C2D?
Does ZFS raidz2 benefit well from quad core processors? Does intel or AMD hold
the performance per mhz edge?

I noticed there are built in drivers that just work for most video cards and
IGPs, but the driver for the AMD 3450 does not work properly, it has artifacts,
shaking, it fails to enable visual effects, and it is limited to a low
resolution.

After doing an image update I noticed there was a new version of ZFS, v13..
when i upgraded rpool from v12 to v13 and rebooted grub failed to load the OS.
Some sort of warning in the upgrade command might be in order.

this is an officially CUT feature (that is, it was removed from the final
product, and will have to wait for future hardware revisions to work)
