I wanted to file a bug on the svc manifest for SUNWsquid, but it isn't clear to
me what the appropriate product and classification would be on
defect.opensolaris.org. Can someone point me towards the appropriate info?
I'm using:
sunwsq...@2.7.6,5.11-0.125
The defect is:
Thanks Alan, I submitted the bug. I didn't realize the meta info was
available, that certainly makes finding the right category easy!

If you can't replace your firewall, you might be able to change some settings
that eliminate the one minute inactivity timeout. What vendor/version is it?

Can you post your dd command line? What are you using for a block size?
How long does it take for a much smaller dd to complete?

As mentioned in the previous response, Sun Cluster is available for free, but
it is pretty complex software and takes some time to get an understanding of
how to configure it properly and trouble shoot it. Another free option is
http://www.fstha.com/ha.html which looks a lot simpler, but
One thing I'd like to see in Blastwave standards is the separation of bin/lib
from config/data. While I was a massive fan of CSW on Solaris 9, when trying
to build S10+ machines with large numbers of zones, it seemed I like I either
needed to make /opt/csw local on each zone, or do lots of
what does in say in /var/svc/log/*samba* ?

Hi
SNIP
Of course we could have used GNU software, but at the
time being, GNU software on top of the Solaris kernel
(ON) is unstable. So therefore we would like to try
to use non-gnu software in Argentix.
SNIP
So what do you think?
Could you please explain what you mean by GNU software on
from the libdoor(3LIB) manpage:
Doors
are a fast light-weight RPC mechanism for secure control
transfer between processes on the same machine. Conceptu-
ally, a thread in one process can issue a call using a door
descriptor that causes code to be executed in another
For sample code, Rich Teer has examples (and a whole 40 page chapter on doors)
in his excellent Solaris Systems Programming book. I would highly recommend
this book to anyone that is programming on Solaris. You can download sample
source code and find more info on his book at
