It would be great with Wine binaries for all Solaris variants (SXDE, S10,
OpenSolaris) when it is released as version 1.00 (which will happen soon).
Meanwhile we are waiting for a long term solution regarding Wine and Solaris.

All,
I have proposed a community under the Desktop Community:
http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=61767
As this proposal would fall into that area we are better off focusing our
efforts in that list rather than the general discuss area.
Please post your support on the above li
+1 to a project here
if that means i can download a binary from pkg.opensolaris.org.
I don't want to compile wine or SFE, I just want to run it.

DCLARKE;
No it wont help. I tried them before. Doug Scott is the man on this. He wrote
an build description that does work in the "Game for Solaris", a thread named
"build wine" or something similar. I posted a quick CBE question there, but I
think this thread is more apropriate. I repost my qu

I am trying to use Virtualbox right now, but have problems mounting the ISO
file. I must first convert the bin cue files to an iso file, that Virtualbox
accepts. I am looking for "binchunker" to do that...

Well, that worked!
I just had to change one line in your script:
--> LDFLAGS="${LDF LAGS} -L${OPTWINELIB} -R${OPTWINELIB}"
changed to
-->LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS} -L${OPTWINELIB} -R${OPTWINELIB}"
Thanks!

Would it be best if all Wine builders coninuously updated the CBE script, or
would it be better to put binary packages of Wine on blastwave.org?
The CBE script would be least effort, but Solaris noobs (Linux switchers) will
maybe have problems with that. Binary packages on blastwave would be use

I like this idea very much... as was said before, WINE is the most used option
to bring windows' software to linux (as per desktoplinux's survey:
http://www.desktoplinux.com/news/NS8454912761.html , way over VMware and VBox)
and in some way is like seeing the decade-lost WABI back to Solaris :P
This is actually great! It seams that Wine moved towards OpenSolaris pretty
much as about two years ago I wasn't able to compile it at all. Now it somehow
works!
My configuration:
Solaris Nevada (build 78)
Wine 0.9.52 (latest available)
I made following change to your script as I don't use /opt
I would love to see Wine on Solaris. Doug Scott is the man on this. After much
wining from me, he waved with his magic wand and has packeted Wine in CBE. The
Wine build instructions can be found in "Gaming on Solaris" here in the forum.

Thanks a whole lot Ben. Nothing beats the actual "code". This is really
great. I will

I currently maintain the QEMU port for the OpenSolaris project, and have also
been dabbling in Wine for 6 or 7 months. I monitor the Wine-devel list and
test the builds after a release or two. I've been talking to a few other folks
