Ok, the conclusion is that my drives are using Sata mode, which is good. I'll
wait for ATAPI support for my DVD burner then. Meanwhile I can go via Windows.

Ok, I get an IDE DVD or set my SATA card to IDE legacy mode. I have connected
my DVD to the motherboard and it doesnt show up in Solaris. However, my Samsung
discs are connected to a
Marvell 88SX6081 SATA card:

You need to use /dev/dsk/c2t0d0p0:c - p0 is the whole disk, unpartitioned,
and _that_ contains no recognizable
fdisk lists a DOS-BIG partition. But

There's more than one bug open against 2kB sector size support, in fact in

Does cdrecord -scanbus list your SATA recorder?
