Alot. At a minimum you will need to:
- Strip down ON to a bare minimum (including the kernal)
- Remove requirement for a MMU (Huge, think about this for a minute,
this means that fork as we know can't exist)
- Come up with a method to track mainline OpenSolaris

The idea of a sort of embedded Solaris seems very interesting to me as well.
The fact that OpenSolaris is so well documented makes it more appealing than
Linux to me. It could be used for different kind of platforms, for example
3G mobile phones/ PDAs/ ...

Well, the same thing could have been said about x86 hardware in
general a few years ago. It was pre-installed w/ Windows or Linux
Hmmm...
AMD contributed the graphics driver for it to X.Org and
continues to maintain it there, but we've never shipped
it in Solaris/OpenSolaris. I don't know of any reason
it would take more than 10 minutes to just drop into our
trees and build though.
