As mentioned in the previous response, Sun Cluster is available for free, but 
it is pretty complex software and takes some time to get an understanding of 
how to configure it properly and trouble shoot it. Another free option is 
http://www.fstha.com/ha.html which looks a lot simpler, but doesn't have a lot 
of the capabilities of Sun Cluster.  If you need something to setup really 
quick (and free), I'd take a look at fstha.  If you need a platform that has 
tons of testing, corner case handling and configuration options (and the 
complexity that comes with all that) I'd look at using Sun or Veritas' 
clustering products, and I'd also budget time for training and $ for support.
