I just had to comment on this.
This is one of the greatest things that Solaris has to offer.  The "interface 
stability" attribute has saved my behind on numerous occassions, when I was 
pressed with making tough judgements calls on how to proceed on some 
architectural design. It's one of those subtle but ingenious mechanisms that 
make Solaris so dependable  and reliable (and on a personal note, cool to work 
with).
