http://www.blastwave.org/howto.html Sunfreeware packages: - install into /usr/local/, a sin against the System V spec which also causes these packages not to work in sparse zones (one should NEVER write anyting into /usr!) - don't implement package dependencies, because the packages aren't created properly. I would avoid Sunfreeware packages like the plague, unless one is running Solaris 7 or older, in which case one has no choice, other than rolling one's own packages.
