After a shut down/restart all disks show up normal in the BIOS and show up with
# format.
However, that does not really solve the problem. The disks should should be hot
swappable, no?

Hello All,
First post and brand new to opensolaris, so...please bear with me.
System: Intel S5000VSA with AHCI and sata disks. OS loads fine and I was able
to create zpool test1 with raidz on four disks.
I ran zpool status and could see all disks normal.
