Solaris Nevada currently supports SATA controllers set in IDE compatibility
mode, as well as these ones in native SATA mode:
- Silicon Image 3124 (but it's buggy)
- Some Marvell chips
- Some controllers which support the AHCI specification, including some Intel
chips.
I don't know about EHCI.
i'm trying to install osol b68 but it seems it does not recognize the hdd
attached to the sata controller of my motherboard (chipset via VT8237R).
is there any way to know what's going wrong?
is there any way to know if this chipset is supported?

OpenSolaris does support SATA controllers, but there are some comments. I am
not familiar with the VT8237R chipset, but I can share with you my
experiences on Intel chipsets.
