A friend of mine at work wants to get into solaris, so I handed him my bld_46
DVD and it installed just fine, except when X comes up, the monitor goes blank
and shuts off.

Intel 829459
NEC 700+ monitor
1280x1024
Hor 31-70
Vert 55-120

Solaris used to give you the ability to login before JDS fires up, but that
doesn't seem to work anymore, I type in root and passwd and it still goes to X
(and blows up)

Ctrl + Alt + Backspace doesn't bring the monitor back to life either.

I was going to do a manual config and choose vesa or something for the driver
but I'm stuck on how I would do that. Booting in to failsafe I mount it to the
default /a then xorgconfig has no idea were a lot of libs /usr and other stuff
it needs to work. Can you mount in failsafe as the dir / ? Virtual Console
would be great at this point!

Any suggestions?

Alan Coopersmith around :)
