This is not an OpenSolaris specific problem but it seems like this is
the most likely place to find soneone who knows.
I have set up a system with the Blastwave SAMBA and Winbind.
If I create a share on a UFS file system, a user on the Windows client
can set/change permissions, but if the share
ZFS uses NFS version 4 ACLs, whereas UFS uses POSIX ACLs. Samba doesn't yet
support ZFS ACLs, although support is meant to be imminent. The Samba website
(samba.org) will point you to the Samba mailing lists, which are probably the
best place to find out about the status of Samba's ZFS ACL suppo
