Actually, NV_85 was loaded but source (Mecurial..onnv-gate) was placed in root
partition directory when compiled...there was enough room to complete
build...but not enough left to be useful. Did initial install (again) and
source was placed in
Hi,
Maybe I am wrong but I don't think that has something to do with your external
drive (I also use an external drive to build ON).
Are you sure you are using the same version of sun studio in both cases? (Just

And don't forget that Xfce is available as well. It's a bit more lightweight
than Gnome, so if you've got limited resources (memory), it may be a good
choice. I'm sure that more Desktop GUIs will become available as (Open)Solaris
becomes more widely adopted.

Can anyone confirm that the more recent (Open)Solaris builds run fine on X38
chipset based Intel-boxes? I've ran on an anecdotal mention on an Intel blog,

The easiest way to access data on an NTFS partition from Solaris is either to
share it out from another computer using either Windows networking (SMB) or
FTP. If this is not possible, you can use a utility created by Moinak Ghosh
which allows Solaris to mount NTFS partitions read-only. The utili
