Hi,
I have had very similar problems on my machine as well. In the end, it even
froze or "rebooted" during the actual boot process. How much memory do you have
installed in your machine? I had those random reboots when there were 8GB in my
machine. During some cleaning of the whole cooling syst

I'm doing some preliminary work on the possibility of consolidating our current
fleet of T2000s and T5220s onto an LDOM platform.
It it possible to take an existing T5220, with an installed app, and later
install an LDOM structure? OR do we need to migrate the existing app to a newly
built LDOM
Hello, I am setting up a nexenta style server, and having its targets connect

The documentation from MS states:

Hi,
Both your wired and wireless Ethernet connections require a driver. I
would start by running the Device Detection Utility (Applications >
System Tools). The Network type will list both of your devices and the
status of the driver. From there we can determine what you need.

That's a relief. There's not much 3D acceleration used for drawing a terminal
window, so this doesn't explain my problems at all then?
Back to square one... =/
So, how do I continue with the troubleshooting

It says on the following page (below "Drivers") that ATI Radeon HD 3200 is
supported out of the box:
http://www.opensolaris.com/learn/features/whats-new/200906/
I guess this simply means that it's supported by the standard driver, not that
there is a specific driver for it. However, it must have

There is no 3D acceleration support currently in Solaris or
OpenSolaris for ATI Radeon X**00 cards, only for Nvidia & Intel
chipsets. (Nvidia ported their proprie
It defaults to a role (RBAC) so you need to change the /etc/user_attr
line for root
roottype=role;auths=solaris.*,solaris.grant;profiles=All;lock_after_retries=no;min_label=admin_low;clearance=admin_high
Remove the "type=role;" and that will allow console login.

Seems it gets an error (ENXIO, 6, "No such device or address")
when reading from the file /mnt/iso/boot/x86.miniroot ?
What happens when you read from that file?
Does it copy all blocks, or does it repor
Hi Blagojevic:
Here's an old blog post I wrote on installing Java and NetBeans before
they made it into the IPS repository:
http://weblogs.java.net/blog/bleonard/archive/2008/06/opensolaris_200_1.html
Although the versions have updated a bit, the steps should be the same.
In your case I would

You're trying to use the old SVR4 package manager, which is incompatible
with IPS. Try:

This may help:

You can, of course, skip the step for generating the USB image.

With sol-nv-b115-x86-dvd.iso mounted at /mnt/iso, I do these commands to
upgrade from b105 to b112, with the resulting error shown below. The same

not here. The FS is ZFS in both cases. Any advice?

No, BIOS doesn't have any video
