..so, reading between the lines, the answer to my question is that currently I
can not install OpenSolaris on my V240 Sparc server as I don't have an X86
jumpstart server!
Any idea on when the text based installation service for Sparc will be ready?

Can ipf restrict connections by application?
If not, any other firewall that can do this on opensolaris?
For eg, I'd only want say firefox and pkg-get to connect out of the lan? This
does a lot more for security than opening a few ports that any app can use :

Recently I've upgraded one of my machines to OpenSolaris 2009.06; the box has a
few HDD: 1) main with OS, etc and 2) archive and ...
After installing I created users, environment, etc on HDD(1), and then wanted
to mount the existing ZFS for the rest (from (2), etc). And by a mistake, for

b122 has a new sound architecture called Boomer which is based on OSS. It has
some bugs right now. I also experience sound problems. I think you have to wait
until Boomer is more bug free?
