Actually, NV_85 was loaded but source (Mecurial..onnv-gate) was placed in root
partition directory when compiled...there was enough room to complete
build...but not enough left to be useful. Did initial install (again) and
source was placed in
Sorry...this is also proabably relevant:

Last time I tried SXDE 05/07 it wouldn't install in less than 1Gb...but it
would default to SXCE which was 512, but I haven't verified this is still
required for SXDE 06/07, and 09/07 when I loaded them.
My point being...If you intend to experiment with Solaris and you are
interested in all the

Assuming you don't want to wade through smc initializaton...which I can't help
with anyway... :)
Have you been messing with 'hostname' setting?
Have no clue what may have caused this condition.but...
"rm -rf .smc.properties" from home directory
"rm -rf /var/sadm/smc/*"
Is this a good idea/
I have burned three DVD's: 1) Linux using mkisofs, 2) OpenSolaris using cdrw,
and 3) Windows using nero. Only the Linux DVD is not recognized on SunFire
V440 with DVD Reader.
My question is this: "If I dump the DVD contents, using 'od' is there something

Believe your observation is correct.about SX:DE attempting DHCP
configuration by defaultTo maintain static IP addressing configuration
(used previously) it was necessary to perform sys-unconfig on SX:DE to supply
hostname, IP address etc.
My case might be a little different with Cable M
Does it truly 'forget'...or does it revert to a previous configuration?

If ScreenSaver is just missing from menuadd "/usr/openwin/bin" to PATH.
You didn't really need to create the Solaris 10 partiton using Partitiion
Commander. Just free up the desired diskspace by shrinking the Windows
partition(s). Solaris install will create the Solaris partition for you f
Thanks for the input...Thought perhaps the onnv-gate was pulling files from the
Mercurial repository or caught in some kind of update loop. Guess I'll let it
run all-night and all-day...must be the disk IO. It is a SPARCUltra-IIe (sun4u)
with 2GB of memory.
