Printer (server) configuration files should have been created as subdirectories
in
/etc/lp/printers/
/etc/lp/printers/{printer_name}/configuration
And there is the /etc/printers.conf files, used by applications (print
clients) to find the available printers.

Hi jkeil,
"forget" means: After configuring a printer "lpstat -s" says:
Scheduler l?uft
system default printer: test
device for test: /dev/printers/0
... and the printer runs.
After reboot the same command says:
Scheduler l?uft
Kein Standardziel f?r System (no standard target for system)
But cf

What exactly is gone? The /dev/printers/0
symbolic link that points to the USB printer device?
Does an usb printer device appear in "cfgadm" output?
O
Thanks. Hostname is now being saved. I have changed the hostname with webmin,
but it doesn't create the file, if it's not there.
My printer is a USB printer at /dev/printers/0
I configured it with webmin od the Solaris Print manager and after a reboot it
is gone.

What kind of printer? USB printer? Or a printer connected to ISA
parallel port?
For using an ISA parallel port printer, you have to work around bug
6374608, by running
update_drv -a -i '"lp"' ecpp
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id
Thanks for your help.
After reboot there is no printer and the hostname is "unknown".

Does it truly 'forget'...or does it revert to a previous configuration?
