Wouldn't it be easier to just create snapshots and store them on the external backup disk? Of course if you have a corupted os then you'd have to format reinstall then restore the snapshot to get back to where you were. With the new release there is even a snapshot time slider program that will

Umm, how large is the FAT disk ? I assume it's FAT32 and you're aware that FAT32 doesn't support files larger than 2 Gb (4 on some OSes). Since you have a Mac at disposal, may be you can just use ZFS on the disk, right ? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org __
