As far as I know, the only packages that are different between 2008.11rc2 and
2008.11 are the entire package and one other package which, like entire, is a
"consolidation" package and does not contain any files but merely specifies
dependencies.

Wouldn't it be easier to just create snapshots and store them on the external
backup disk? Of course if you have a corupted os then you'd have to format
reinstall then restore the snapshot to get back to where you were. With the new

Umm, how large is the FAT disk ? I assume it's FAT32 and you're aware that
FAT32 doesn't support files larger than 2 Gb (4 on some OSes).
Since you have a Mac at disposal, may be you can just use ZFS on the disk,
right ?

Yep this will work. Just that it's not something probably intended by zfs
designers, so ask in zfs-discuss to be sure!
Of course, a better way would be to create a pool on a second disk, and use zfs
send / zfs recv to replicate incrementally to it.

Hi all,
First of all let me say that, after a few days using it (and after several

be the OS of my choice.
The fact is that I installed it in a partition of 16Gb in my hard disk and that
