check to make sure you have the latest bios installed and try changing the
settings for legacy USB keyboard and mouse.

Netbeans should auto-indent the code as you go assuming it understands the file
type. I'm using Netbeans 6.5RC1 on OpenSolaris b105. You'll need Netbeans 6.5
if you want to use the integrated PHP support.
Make sure you have the PHP plugin installed and enabled. Tools -> Plugins ->

This feature is disabled by default. Have a look at

If you want to re-enable the 'shutdown' and 'restart' buttons on the login
screen do this:
* Edit the /etc/X11/gdm/custom.conf file and add the following under the
'daemon' and 'greeter'

It's definitely not the one button/command process that Linux has. It's very
much a manual process with quite a few requirements and pre-requisites. Have a
look at the link I posted on the 12th -

There is no button in the logon screen to shutdown the system.
Sometimes I chose restart by mistak, but I cannot shutdown at the logon screen,
no button for me. The only short way is power off.
I have osol 2008.11 installed.

Hello NG,
we use a intel board S3000AH. When we want to install OpenSolaris 2008.11 the
screen hung up after login in the live CD. No mouse or keyboard any more. When
we use the same cd with an other system it works with out any Problems. Also
when we start a knoppix on the S3000AH no Problems.

Thanks for the information.
However I would like still know how to recompile the kernel:
I don't trust binary files. I know some kernel programming unter Linux. I would
like to use OpenSolaris on a production system, and I would be able to fix the
kernel if there is a pro
I'm currently using Netbeans for developping. I checked all options:
I don't find the function to indent my code?
Its PHP code and HTML.

Brian Leonard has a pretty good blog entry on setting up OpenSolaris on an
Apple Mac book pro. Try it out and let us know if you have any further
problems. Here's the link:

Assuming you have an x86 system, run memtest86 overnight to make sure
your system memory isn't bad.

That is great, You should submit a RFE
http://www.opensolaris.org/bug/report.jspa for support to include steps to
duplicate and the output of:
/usr/X11/bin/scanpci ; dmesg ; prtconf -Dpv ; prtpicl -v

It is working now, at least no black screen.
Mouse can move outof vm window seamless, and copy/paste function is working
between Host and osol Guest in vm. Unity function is not working, but I did not
find the module after installing, maybe this is not available now.
I will test other functions
Hi,
I did not see any appropriate option in your board's manual, but as a hint from
the blue sky: I seem to remember an Asus P5AD2 ... board with a BIOS option
telling the time it was allowed to find the disks (maybe for onboard raid
chips) - in any case it did not always find all disks during
Great! It seems to be working! I actually didn't think to put the "pciex"!
I was right in thinking you could help :)
Thanks a lot!

Your are correct the 2008.11 single user option is unneeded in the fact that id
does not touch the local hard drive and ether does snv_bxx does with the
interactive install until process vs a automated install via DHCP jumpstart
that would require a intervention.
