Did you buy these thumpers from Sun or did you get them used / second-hand? I
don't think Sun sells x4500 thumpers anymore. Now a days they sell a vastly
improved version called the x4540 instead. Check out the link below where it
says these are no longer orderable and have been superceded by th
to circumvent swapping drives maybe ?

Hello,
unfortunately I bought a HP LaserJet P1005 which is a low cost laser printer
that needs it's firmware to be uploaded each time it's switched on (really
weird IMHO ;)). I'd like to operate that device with my OS2009.06 laptop. My
question here is: Is there a daemon/service available that

Hello,
on my main computer opensolaris 2009.06 live cd wont boot.
Qaud core intel Q6600
asus P5K-wifi motherboard
Nvidia 8800GT graphics card.
creative x-fi sound card.
the error is "cant load console login services press ctrl +D to bypass"
may not be exact wording.
any ideas?
thanks in advance
I think during install, system asks to provide new username and password...
Anyway try using:
login: jack
pass: jack
Then
$ su -
pass for root: opensolaris
and create new user with "useradd"

Hi!
I have a (fresh) installation of osol-1002-117 in my Acer Aspire One (8Gb SSD
version) and now I only have 200 Mb of space available in my local disk. I know
that the previous version of OpenSolaris 2009.06 only needs 3.5Gb of space.
May be this behaviour is produced because the new version
I see the same errors appearing in the update phase, but I don't see a problem
in creating a new boot environment.
Just after rebooting, Totem, Rhythm Box, ... all crash.

It has probably to do with the GRUB version.
Can you boot, if you change the boot order in the BIOS?
Don't forget to change hd1 to hd0. If this works you can check if you can
chainload
Ubuntu from the Solaris Grub. Them the next step is to swap both hard drives.

Hello:
I installed a new Seagate 1.5T hard drive and installed OpenSolaris2009.06.
Everything runs fine. But after I installed sun-cc development suite and gcc
and VirtualBox, I checked "zpool status," I was surprised to find out that
there were "permanent" errors "ZFS-8000-8A" in the file

Once it moves pass this and gets to the GUI can you login?
If so would guess a keyboard driver problem.
