I can't install OpenSolaris 2009.06 on my DELL xps720 due to "nv_sata" attach
issues.
Basically the "nv_sata" driver won't attach unless I reconfigure the disks to
be under the
control of the internal RAID controller (which would destroy data already in
place).
No good.
The spec
try adding the entry in /etc/driver_aliases and submit a RFE at
http://www.opensolaris.org/bug/report.jspa and what does /usr/sbin/prtpicl
output show?

but i had to put the packages in /var/spool/pkg.

I'm trying to set up a cheap tower as a second computer/server with
opensolaris. Unfortunately, I've hit two snags, and am brand new to Opensolaris

I think I found the problem to the failure to poweroff on my machine. By
removing the audio drive, audio_hd, (rem_drv audiohd), I can now poweroff my
machine successfully.
