svcadm disable rpc/bind;svcadm enable rpc/bind gives this message
/lib/svc/method/rpc-bind[50]: /dev/msglog: cannot create [Permission denied]
Any clues on what to do next? I'd like to get NIS and NF running again?

Just had to figure this out the hard way myself:
You seem to have renamed the ZFS bootfs BE name away from its default name
"rpool/ROOT/opensolaris", and GRUB can only load the chooser splashimage from
the ZFS default bootfs if it knows about its name.
This means you can easily fix this by exec
1.Provide listing of: rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst
2.Provide listing of: pfexec zpool status
Maybe all you need is to edit menu.lst and that is all.

Hi,
as my OpenSolaris 2009.06 had provided an update for some of its components,
I've run those updates. After restarting my opensolaris system the below posted
block was added to my menu.lst. This causes that within the GRUB boot menu now
2 OpenSolaris boot items are present and I can boot bot
Problem solved - reinstall system :)

I saw OS select menu with a black background, nothing new for me but thank you
